A cultural institution built on the conviction that Black and African heritage deserves to be centred, celebrated, and protected.
BAD Heritage Foundation is a community-driven organisation dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and educating people about Black, African, and Diaspora heritage. We aim to reconnect individuals with their roots, promote cultural awareness, and create opportunities for growth within our communities.
Based in The Hague, Netherlands, we work at the intersection of culture, identity, and empowerment — building programmes and platforms that ensure heritage is not merely remembered, but actively lived and passed on.
Our name carries intentional weight. BAD — Blacks, Africans, Diaspora — reclaims language and identity. We are a movement that replaces erasure with pride, and silence with truth.

We embrace and celebrate our roots. Black, African, and Diaspora identity is not a burden — it is a source of power, beauty, and resilience that has shaped civilisations and continues to shape the world.

Knowledge of history is the key to empowerment. We believe that when communities understand where they come from, they are better equipped to shape where they are going.
As Hosea 4:6 reminds us — "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." We exist to change that.
Stronger together across cultures and generations. We bring people together across ethnic backgrounds, borders, and generations — building a community that is greater than the sum of its parts.
